Challenge 2: Can you help us with automatic de-identification of unstructured patient data?

What is your healthcare solution?
NeuroAdvise is a clinical decision support tool available as a mobile application that helps physicians make better clinical decisions. Our system can archive all demographic and clinical patient-related information in a classified manner. Data is currently stored without patient identity according to time and date. NeuroAdvise algorithms are simulations of a clinician’s mental diagnostic process and most of the important diagnostic factors are included in its comprehensive database. It only takes a few seconds for the user to access the list of differential diagnosis, which are sorted in order of probability and unique for each patient. The system is flexible with unlimited capacity for adding new symptoms, disorders and diagnostic tests. Widespread use of NeuroAdvise will gradually lead to a full demographic and clinical profile for any given disorder.

What inspired you?
I was always looking for a comprehensive resource, a book or website, for differential diagnosis of neurological conditions during my neurology residency period. I didn’t find it so I began to collect data and decided to create it. After eight years of hard work, in cooperation with two teams of IT experts and medical students, we converted clinical information to data tables and also converted clinical diagnostic reasoning process to artificial intelligence algorithms, and developed the application.
